The potter community of Kanthalia, in Murshidabad, create a special kind of doll, where mundane household situations are depicted.
 
First, a model is made by hand and then sweltered. Next a layer of mica and chalk dust is smeared on it. The facial features and decorations are done with red and black colours. These dolls stand out for their striped designs.
